Day Three – All About Layering 2

Day Three – All About Layering 2

I am so pleased to say that the classes are moving smoothly and fast. I have already completed the first set or classes and now I am moving to All About Layering 2. This is a little bit more advance set of classes but I am still sticking to simple and and quick.

These two cards below are today’s project inspiration. The first card was created by Therese Calvird and the second was created by Jennifer Rzasa. Both of these cards, as well as mine were created with a layering stamp set from Altenew called Painted Rose.

My design was a mixture of both, you can say. I wanted to create a one layer, monochromatic look with a pop of color. For this I chose two families of grey inks one I would use for my flower and the other one for my leaves. The paper that I am using is Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110 lbs. First I taped my paper to my work surface using some masking, painter’s tape. The grid lines my my work surface helped me position my paper straight as well as my tape. I used my ruler to measure the center of card that helped me position the tape evenly on the sides. Before I moved to stamping, I created a mask for my rose for I will be adding some leaves later. Next, once all the masking was done, it was time for stamping. First I layered all three layers of stamps, I then masked my flower and moved to the leaves. After I was done with stamping, I simply added some light grey ink so the center of the card can be more pronounced. After that, it was time for a reveal. I removed the masking tape very carefully so I do not tear off the paper. Then, for my pop of color I added some red wax seal and I used a wax seal stamp Just Thanks that Altenew recently released and colored it with a gold color Sharpie. And the card was done!

Super easy and simple, one layer card done in minutes! I think this was one of the fastest cards I have ever made. I have to be honest with you, I really like this design and this is something that I have been meaning to try for a long time now. I love this technique and I will be using it in the future.

And that is it for today. Thank you for visiting me today and I will see you soon with a new design! Cheers!

That is beautifully done. Clean and simple card, like the pop of red.
