Did Someone Say Cake?

Did Someone Say Cake?

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday! I am so happy that you took the time to visit me today.

I put my Altenew projects on hold for a few days, I had something to take care of first, and will be continuing with my tasks as soon as tomorrow. But for today I have something so special to share.

A recent order from a wonderful Colorado Craft Company (CCC) arrived a few days ago and I had to stop and play with something so SWEET a little. CCC is a US company and I’ve been using their products for a couple of years now. Everything that they make is made in the US, including their coordinating dies, and I recently made a YouTube video using their stamps. I would like to mention that this video was a part of anti bullying collaboration and if you would like to check that quick video please click HERE.

So here there are my fabulous three! Unfortunately, picture cannot show you how bright and colorful these cards are, and I think I am getting hungry just by looking at them. All these stamps are from the collection called Big & Bold, and honestly, all stamps from the collection are truly amazing and so hard to choose from. But this is what I picked for you today and this is what you need to make them:

A Piece of Cake

For the first card I used a stamp set called Birthday Cake (click for more info) with coordinating dies. I colored this image with Copic Markers (please let me know if you would like to know which Copics I used) and then I put Wink of Stella on colorful parts for more interest and additional shine. The base is made of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110 lbs card stock and for the panel I used holographic paper from DCWV. The size of this card is 5×5 and it comes with a hand made envelope. This card was super easy and quick to make. It required just simple stamping, simple coloring, die cutting and just putting the pieces together. And that was it! A piece of cake!

Le Macaron

I have not yet met a person who does not like macarons. I truly don’t believe it is possible not to like this bundle of pure heaven and joy! So, how could you ever go wrong with a card that had macarons on it and on top of it, is a slimline card! The star of this card is the stamp set called Slimline Macarons. To create a background I used a stencil from PinkFresh Studio called Slim Leafy Squares and while I’m with PinkFresh Studio, let me mention that the sentiment is also from PFS and it is called Happy Birthday Sentiments. The beautiful pink macaron I simply stamped with a very light ink and did no line coloring with Copics. I embellished the card with some jewels from PinkFresh Studio and glued everything together.

As Sweet as Can Be

And to top it all off, you will need a one giant cupcake with a strawberry on top! This is a very big and impactful card, the size is 5×7 and truly is a wow factor! This stamp set is called Sweetest Friend Cupcake and it does have coordinating dies as well (CLICK HERE). To color this ginormous cupcake I also used Copic Markers. There is a tutorial on YouTube by Sandy MacIver and if you would like to check that out please click HERE. The sentiment I used is from the stamp set I used to create the first card. For the background I used a stencil that I created using my Cricut Maker and it was inspired by a very similar stencil I saw at Simon Says Stamp. After all was cut and done I simply glued everything together and that was it!

If you would like to find out more details on how I created these cards or would like to see a video tutorial on any of them, please let me know in the comment bellow. For all of you who live in Marin, these cards can now be purchased at Curate Studio in San Anselmo (click here), or you can order it on my site by clicking the BUILD A CARD (click here) tab or simply send an email to lanabylanadesign@gmail.com.

Thank you so much for visiting me today and I will catch you soon with a new post!

Cheers!
