As October 10th rolls around, so does the band new release from Spellbinders. This release is truly special and it can be used in many different projects and for different occasions.
A the first glance this collection seemed to me that I couldn’t really make a lot of things with it, but once I started creating, I simply wasn’t able to stop.
When you are having a little blockage, or lac of inspiration, I suggest you start with the basic stuff and create something that is obvious or the way it is/was supposed to be used. Change colors, change the background, change the sentiment and see where that takes you.
This is exactly what I did. For both of these two cards I used Heart Hands Etched Dies (click HERE) and this is how I began my creation: In the first card I just created a simple background and just added a sentiment, but in the other card, I decided to pick some color and add a sentiment in the middle. And this is where I started building up my designs and, the inspiration started flowing.
Both of these cards are 5×7 (or A7) size and this is to show you how big these dies are. Both of these backgrounds are pretty simple. I used an embossing folder from Altenew, to get a sublte, but non the less interesting background. For the arms I used Bestie Heart in Hand Etched Dies (click HERE) , for the bracelets and the long chain I used Bestie Beaded Bracelets Etched Dies (click HERE) and lastly, to add letters and form the words I used Bestie Alphabet Beads & Press Plate Die Set (click HERE).
And here is where things started becoming interesting. To create these two cards I used the same items like I did in the cards above, only this time I die cut two arms from the Bestie Heart in Hand Etched Dies (click HERE). The trick is to flip one of the arms over and that is how you’re going to have one left and one right arm. You will not be able to tell the difference once you color the die cuts. And simply add whichever sentiment you want.
And here we are at the end. Saving the best for last!
This was my absolute favorite card in the bunch. I just used the hearts from the Bestie Heart in Hand Etched Dies (click HERE) and the letters from the Bestie Alphabet Beads Press Plate & Die Set (click HERE). This was a relatively easy card to make. This is a 5×5 card, so it is not too big. I created the background by simply inking a blending rush and just created dots, next I glued the hearts and then added the sentiment and that was it.
Remember, simplicity is always the key!
And that is all my dear friends.
I enjoyed this release so much and I cannot begin to tell you how much fun I had creating my cards with this release.
