Level 2, Lesson 2 – In the Mood for Color with Stephanie Klauck

Another day, with another card. This card came out great and it truly didn’t take that long to complete.

My project inspiration was a card made by Stephanie Klauck. I truly love the simplicity of this card. I love the bright colors of the flower, and the bold sentiment stamped in black just ties everything together. Just simply beautiful!

I first taped my card base on my multi medium mat from Altenew. Using low tack masking tape I masked off the area on my card base and did some simple ink blending using dye inks from Altenew. To apply inks I used a mini blending brush also by Altenew and these little brushes are perfect! They hold just enough ink and they blend inks seamlessly. After I was done with my ink blending I die cut and put together my my flower. Build a Flower sets from Altenew are so easy and quick to put together, just follow the guides that come with each set. I love this collection of dies and I think they are just brilliant! They give so much dimension to your cards and truly are a statement! When using this die sets I love to pair them with Altenew Gradient Card Stock. These little sets of paper are perfect! They take all guessing out of the equation which saves so much time, and the card stock is light weight which makes them perfect for layering! After I put my flower and leaves together, I arranged them on my desk first and I used Press and Seal Wrap to pick it up and to hold it together while I am done with my sentiment. Instead of Press and Seal Wrap you can use a washi tape or a masking tape, I just find that this wrap is great for projects like this. It is low tack and yet strong enough to hold my die cuts. To stamp a sentiment I used a MISTI stamping tool, it just makes things so much easier! I then glued my flower on my card base and that was it! My card was done in no time!

I am so happy with how this card turned out! I think this card is going to my “one of my favorite cards ever” folder! What do you think?
