Irresistible Ink Techniques

Irresistible Ink Techniques

Howdy and happy Saturday!

Today is the last class of the Level 1. I am getting closer and closer. So before I move to the Level 2 I will have to fulfill an assignment. I am still not sure what that assignment is but am I so super exited to find out! This is going to be fun!

So this last class was held by Sara Naumann and she showed several different techniques on how to creatively use your inks for creating backgrounds. This class truly helped me open up my creative side a little bit more and gave the courage to actually try something different that I have been meaning to try for a long time, but somehow never die it.

The first image is showing the technique that Sara used to create one of her cards in this class and the second image is the project inspiration for today’s card.

Let me start off with the supplies I used:

I looked in my ribbon stash and the only ribbon that I had that I wanted to use for this project was antique gold and I went ColorPaletts.com to look for some color ideas and that is how I picked my color scheme. I made a little color swatch to better help me with my design. I find this to be very helpful, and if you are struggling with color combinations try this “trick”.

And now, let me show you what I created for today:

I started by creating a background first. I put some ink onto my Altenew Stamping Mat and mixed it with a little bit of clean water. I then used my brayer and painted my paper with it. TIP: Unless you are using watercolor paper, please make sure not to use a lot of water for your paper will warp. Then, it was time for stamping. Once again I used my MISTI stamping tool for this, just in case I needed to double stamp. And the image was done. Next, I added the sentiment and added some splatters on the bard base. Once everything was dry, I put everything together. I just want to mention that when I am gluing bows onto my cards, I like to use my glue gun for this, first I know that bows are securely attached to my project and the glue drys super fast. And that was it. The card was done in no time!

Oh, I just love this color combination and how this card turned out.

Thank you so much for visiting me today. I will see you soon with another post! Cheers!
