Today’s focus, as the title says, are masculine cards.
I often hit the wall when it comes to masculine cards. Somehow I just cannot get enough inspiration and I am almost never satisfy with the way they look. Well, I should say not anymore! With this lesson from Altenew I am more and more realizing that masculine cards should be minimalistic and not overly done with embellishments. Even just a bold sentiment can do the trick.
Today’s project inspiration is this card created by Jennifer Rzasa, now I apologize for the quality of this image, I had to take a shot of my computer screen with my phone because there is only a video of how Jennifer made this card. I hope you find this ok. In this video (card) Jennifer used geometric shapes and masculine and subtle colors and as you can see, there is really not much detail. As I mentioned earlier, just keep it clean and simple!

So, here is my take on this card.

And these are the supplies I used:
- 110 lbs Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock
- Altenew Dot Art Stam Set
- Altenew Die Inks; these are the same colors as Jennifer used in her card : Morning Frost, Arctic, Mountain Mist, Frayed Leaf and Jet Black
- MISTI Stamping Positioner (the only reason I used MISTI is because I knew I needed to double stamp and wanted for my images to look crisp and sharp. You can definitely use a stamping block for this technique)
I just, sort of randomly stamped my triangles. I really didn’t have any particular order of how to arrange the shapes or which color to use next. I just played along and used what looked good to me. After I was done with my solid shapes, I added a couple of dotted images for a little more interest. This is when I realized that this card is just going to be so simple and kind of cheap, and I needed one more element. Now, I knew I had to stay away from embellishments and really didn’t want to overwhelm this design with more stamped images, and one thing came to mind: the WINK OF STELLA! Oh, how perfect! This totally completed the card and gave it a more polished look. Just a little hint of sparkle to make it more festive and special! I then added a sentiment and the card was finished!

Here is the finished product. I am so pleased how this card turned out. In real life you can see the gentle sparkle of the glimmer pen and I it is just stunning .

That is all for now. I will catch you soon with another post and this one is going to be fabulous!
Cheers!

Thanks! You know, we need to start making more of these “for the guys” cards. This class truly helped get over the brainstorming on what to do when making a masculine card.
