Howdy! Here we are, at the very end of my Altenew Educator Certification Project (AECP). I am so happy to say that I have completed all my classes for my Altenew Educator Program and it feels wonderful!
I held my very first virtual class on Saturday, the 18th of September and I loved every minute of it.
First, let me reflect on my AECP journey a little bit. I started this program in the beginning of this year, January 5th to be exact. To me it seems like it’s been way longer than that, probably because a lot of things have happened until then and now. (If you would like to see my very first challenge, please click HERE) I was so exited and I have to admit a little bit overwhelmed with the program at first, but Altenew team made the journey so smooth. A big shout out goes to Virginia Lu and Erum Tasneem and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them personally. These two amazing ladies were there to answer every question and to point you to the right direction. They really made sure you are not lost in the process. One thing that was truly helpful is a Facebook Group specifically made for our group, a wonderful place to interact with other people from the same program, share ideas, experiences and your work. I learned a lot through this program and I met a lot of wonderful people, some of which I can call my friends. But there is one thing in particular that I will forever be grateful to Altenew and AECP- it helped me find and refine my own style, and learn more about what kind of card maker I want to be.

So, for my final challenge I did something absolutely different and unexpected. And this is how the idea came to be:
In our card making industry we dedicate a month of July for holiday cards and it is commonly known as “Christmas in July”, and I knew I was going to make some holiday cards but the design will have to be completely unorthodox and unexpected. I originally wanted for my last challenge to be called “Christmas in July” and when I presented my idea to Virginia and Erum they were a little bit puzzled and once I had my design approved, Virginia came up with a brilliant name “Not Your Average Christmas Card” and the rest is history.
